It may seem like an easy process to scribble down a few monetary items onto a piece of paper, but its a little more complicated than that.
If you're a spoiled brat than you'll never be happy with any gifts you get so this process doesn't apply to you. Or if you're the 'Mother Teresa' type, where the only thing that matters is the people who surround you(boring). But on a more practical note, no one likes to open up something they might have to exchange or return. So instead of setting those around you up for 'gift giving failure', be smart and plan ahead(tell them exactly what you want). Now im not saying you're going to get exactly what you write down on your list, but what I can be sure is you will receive something very close to it.
So this is how its done..
Categorize your list: movies/electronics/makeup/perfume/games/lotion/clothes/music/certificates/shoes etc..
Now go through each category and see if theres something you would like...
See what I tend to do is use Christmas as a 'stock up' holiday. Basically I ask for things I already have or am about to run out of, because then I know i'll use it throughout the year and I won't have to spend money buying it myself! Next to these items write what stores they can purchase the gift at.
Perfume 'Chanel' @ The Bay
Sunglasses 'Rayban avaitors' @ Sunglass Hut
Earphones @ Bestbuy
Nailpolish 'China glaze' @ Trade Secrets
Bodylotion 'Coconut'& 'Warm vanilla sugar' @ The body Shop
If you want to go the extra step, you can paste pictures onto your wish list so buyers can have a visual idea as well(because the boys in my house don't understand what 'warm vanilla sugar' from the body shop is exactly)...
*and remember stay within a budget don't ask for things people cant afford(aka;setting yourself up for disapoinment)*
