"when in doubt, wink, peace and pout!"

If you notice that your eyeshadow creases or the colour fades as time progresses than I have an answer to fix your problems. To prevent creasing and extend the life of your eyeshadow you need to use a PAINT POT aka an eyeshadow primer. Apply the primer to your eye lids before application of your eyeshadow, and your shadow is guaranteed to last all day.
I use Mac paint pots as an eyeshadow primer. It comes in various colours. The reason the primer comes in colours is because it also intensifies the eyeshadow colour. If you use a blue coloured paint pot with blue eyeshadows than your going to get a very intense blue.
My two favourite paint pots are:

Bare study [cream white pearl] - I use any eyeshadow colour on top of this paint pot. Its a neutral colour with a frost effect. I also use this as an eyeshadow, it works great as a highlighter for the inside corner of your eyes.

Fresco Rose [mid-tone pink pearl]- I wear a lot of pink-ish/red-ish eye makeup because it makes blue eyes pop. So I thought it would be a good idea to have a primer that was for pinker tones.

If you don't want a primer that has a frost(shimmer) effect than I would recommend painterly. It's a cream coloured paint pot with a matte finish. You can apply any colour eyeshadow on top of this primer.
